The Hobbit Book Cover Design
A book publisher has requested a redesign of the book, The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien. The Hobbit is a popular fantasy novel that was originally published in 1937. The requested design was to be based on the author’s existing book cover concept, followed by my interpretation of the story.
I experimented with typographic, photographic, and illustrative approaches before I finalized the design. The final design represents the Hobbit’s point of view while on his journey through the forest. Through my rounds of ideation, I found this imagery to be the most enticing to potential readers.
